In a bid to attract top talent, FutureCorp introduced an “unlimited vacation” policy. The result? The company is now facing an unexpected crisis: the mass disappearance of its workforce.
A Vacation Too Far
“On paper, it seemed like a great idea,” said CEO Mark Jensen. “But within a week, we had more out-of-office replies than active employees.”
Employees have embraced the policy with gusto, booking vacations to exotic locations and sometimes simply not returning. “I’ve been trying to reach my team for a month,” lamented project manager Sarah Lee. “I think they’re all in Bali. Or maybe Iceland. Who knows?”
An Empty Office
The office now resembles a ghost town, with desks collecting dust and the break room snacks going stale. “We wanted to promote work-life balance,” said Jensen. “We just didn’t anticipate that life would win by such a large margin.”
